7 Ways to Solve Problems Students

In learning activities in class, we often find problematic students, for example: like rowdy / noisy, not paying attention, leaving seat without permission, kidding himself, or say no corresponding discussion at the time described. This is the cause we as teachers become lazy when teaching in class. Classroom management expert Carolyn Evertson and colleagues provide an effective solution strategy to overcome these troubled students, among others:

  1. Use non-verbal cues. Establish eye contact with students. Then give the cue by placing your index finger to his lips, shook his head, or using hand signals to stop the behavior.
  2. Continue to continue the learning activities. Usually there is a pause in the transition activities in teaching and learning activities, which at this time the students do not do anything. In this situation, the student may leave his seat, chatting, joking and started to fuss. A good strategy is not correct their actions but soon establish a new activity next.
  3. Approaching students. When students begin to act deviant. You just approach it, then usually she'll shut up.
  4. Navigate the behavior of students. If students ignore the task we tell it, remind them of that obligation. You could say, "Well, remember, all children must complete this math problem."
  5. Give instructions needed. Sometimes students make small mistakes while not understanding how to do the work. To fix this you need to monitor students and provide guidance if needed.
  6. Have students stop firmly and directly. Establish eye box with students, be assertive, and tell students to stop his actions. Make a statement, brief and monitor the situation until students comply. This strategy can be done by combining the strategy of directing the behavior of students.
  7.  Give students a choice. Give students responsibility by selecting two choices, to act properly or receive negative consequences. Tell students what is right action and what are the consequences if violated.
